What to expect on your course
Before the course - Complete your PADI E-Learning
Just like your first PADI course, when you sign up, you’ll receive an email from PADI with access to your online learning materials. With e-learning, you can study at your own pace, right from the comfort of your couch, using our digital classroom. While smartphones work fine, a computer or tablet with a larger screen will enhance your learning experience.

Your Rescue Diver Journey
Often described as the most rewarding course in the PADI system, the Rescue Diver program is designed to build the skill and confidence to look after yourself and the divers around you. It's a serious topic, but the training is dynamic and enjoyable. (Please note: A valid EFR Primary & Secondary Care certification (or equivalent) within the last two years is required to start. We offer this course if you need it!)
Day 1 - Building the Foundation in the Ocean
We believe in training in the real environment. After meeting at our Waipapa dive centre, we'll head straight out to a sheltered bay. Here, in the calm ocean, you'll practice the building blocks of rescue: everything from handling a tired diver on the surface to managing complex underwater problems.

Day 2 - Bringing it all Together
It's time to head out further into the stunning Bay of Islands. Aboard our fast boat, we’ll make our way to a suitable training site. Here, your instructor will present you with challenging but realistic rescue scenarios. You'll be expected to put all your new skills into action—assessing the situation, forming a plan, and executing a rescue. It's an adrenaline-filled, empowering, and incredibly satisfying day.
